FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Town of Middleton Responds to Closure of Middleton Library

The Town of Middleton recognizes the significant concern and disappointment being expressed by residents regarding the closure of the Middleton library.

Library services play an important role in communities. For many residents, libraries provide access not only to books and educational resources, but also to technology, information, programming, and community connections. The loss of these services will be felt by many individuals and families throughout Middleton and the surrounding area.

"The Middleton library has been an important part of our community for many years, and we understand why residents are feeling disappointed by this news," said Mayor Gail Smith. "Libraries provide valuable services and opportunities for people of all ages.  I want residents to know that Council is listening to their concerns and recognizes how important access to library services is for our community."

The Town of Middleton is committed to working with  relevant stakeholders to explore opportunities for services in Middleton moving forward.

The Town of Middleton respects the work of all organizations involved and recognizes that this is a complex situation. Our immediate focus is to understand the impact this will have on the community and to acknowledge the disappointment and frustration residents feel.

The Town encourages residents seeking information about library services and the closure to continue following updates from the appropriate sources.

As this situation continues to unfold, the Town of Middleton will remain engaged, informed, and committed to listening to the residents we serve.
