At the July 29 Special Council meeting, Middleton Town Council approved an additional $30,000 to complete the remaining asphalt patching and pothole repairs throughout the Town during the 2026-2027 fiscal year.  The funding will be transferred from the Town's General Operating Reserve Fund.

Earlier this year, the Town completed asphalt patching in several locations; however, the approved 2026-2027 operating budget did not provide sufficient funding to address all remaining potholes.

With the contractor already scheduled to return to Middleton next week to complete paving work on Commercial Street as part of the Province's Cost-Shared Paving Program, Council approved the additional funding to take advantage of the contractor's existing mobilization. Completing the work at this time will improve the overall condition and safety of Town streets while addressing the remaining potholes before the winter season.
