The Town of Middleton now has battery recycling available at Town Hall.
Proper battery disposal helps protect our environment and keeps hazardous materials out of landfills. Residents are encouraged to safely recycle accepted household batteries at the designated drop-off location:

Accepted Batteries
The program accepts:
- Rechargeable batteries (up to 5 kg), including lithium ion, nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, nickel zinc, and small sealed lead acid batteries
- Household single-use batteries, including alkaline (AA, AAA, 6V, 9V, C, D), button and coin cell batteries, and lithium primary batteries
Not Accepted
The following batteries are not accepted through this program:
- Car batteries (wet-cell batteries)
- Damaged or defective lithium or lithium ion batteries
- Batteries that are part of a recall
- E-mobility batteries, including e-scooter, hoverboard, and e-bike batteries
- Batteries over 5 kg
Residents are asked to review accepted battery types before dropping items off to ensure safe handling and proper recycling.
