The Town of Middleton Water Utility is owned and operated by the Town and governed by the Town of Middleton Council.
The Water Utility is regulated by the Nova Scotia Utilities Act and the user rates are approved by the Nova Scotia Utilities and Review Board.

Accounts are billed a flat rate for water service, currently the rate is $92.01*/quarter and $1.24* per cubic meter of water consumption. *Rates subject to change in accordance to UARB rate review.
Unpaid bills will incur an interest charge of 1.5% per month on the 16th of each month.

Paymentus Corporation is a third-party payment processor which charges a convenience fee (2.4%). The Town of Middleton does not receive any portion of these fees.

New homeowners are required to complete and return a water service contract, failure to do so may result in disconnection of water service:

Water Service Contract
Water Disconnections/ Transfers
Owners who have sold their property may phone (902) 825-4841 Ext. 101 or email billingclerk@town.middleton.ns.ca, to arrange a final meter reading on the date of closing.
If you require your water to be temporarily disconnected for service, please phone (902) 825-4841 ext. 101. There is a $50 service charge that will be reflected on your next water bill.
Suspension of Service for Non-Payment of Bills
The Utility may suspend service to customers whose bills remain unpaid for more than forty-five calendar days after the date rendered. When water service has been suspended, service will not be re-established until all arrears plus a reconnection charge of $50.00 have been paid to the Utility.
